"This morning, when I heard the news, it was a big surprise," said Sarandeep in an interview with JioHotstar. "Just a few days back, I had asked him if he would be playing County matches ahead of the England tour. He told me, 'No Paaji, I’m focusing on India A matches to prepare for the Test series.' Everything was in place. So this sudden retirement is unexpected. He has no issues with form or fitness."

Virat Kohli ends his iconic Test career having played 123 matches and scored 9,230 runs in 210 innings. He stands as India’s fourth-highest run-scorer in Test cricket, with 30 centuries, 31 half-centuries, and a personal best of 254 not out.
